blistering hot!

so, the sun here is amazingly hot. i don't really understand how these people can live like this all day, everyday for months. it's nuts. like i literally walk ten feet and i'm sweating!
i don't know what it is but it seems like all the foreigners sweat like mad and the japanese/okinawans aren't affected at all. i don't really know what's happening.

anyway, my tutor and her boyfriend, who are both equally awesome i might add, took me out to this place called American Village, also known as Mihama. i know it sounds ridiculous to go to an american place in a foreign country but it's actually really different there. it's mostly american clothing shops run by japanese, so that was interesting to see. apparently there is this slogan that's really popular in okinawa, "oki all day." they also hae like this cool shop that engraves/carves out rubber slippers in custom designs. it's really awesome and i think i will buy those to bring home.

this american village is also by the beach so i got to see what one of the beaches in okinawa looks like. it actually doesn't really smell like the ocean until you get super close and i thought that was a little weird consdidering i'm also from an island.

other than that, i think i've updated you on most everything. gosh, i wish i could upload pictures from here but i can't so i'll do it later.
i think i should go buy snacks from my floormates. :D k, bye!
