The bar that we went to.

It's other sign.

Some big building in Naha.

Poles from the Naha Matsuri that you can't really see.

The poles that we could kinda see.

The poles that we couldn't really see from a different angle.

More poles and the party ball. I don't know what the ball is called in Japanese.

Yay poles!

I just basically tried to get as many pictures of the poles as I could because I couldn't see anything else.

I think that's a different pole.

One of the broadcasting buildings.

Some of the performers backs and a cute baby on the top.

Closer picture of the performers backs. No baby this time.

The monorail in Naha.

A 水道 (waterway) in Naha. I think it's ocean water. I'm not sure.

The Naha bus and another coolie giant building.

A Shiisaa. I can't tell what he's selling.

Mozzarella Cheese and Tomato sauce spaghetti from Cafe Jr. IT WAS DELICIOUS!

YUI Concert in January! I really really REALLY want to go. I don't think anyone really understands except my friend Pa who lies in Arkansas. Haha. She loves YUI even more than I do.

Shiisaa welcoming me into Naha.

A cool looking fountain.

The cool looking fountain with flash.

The previous waterway with cool walkways next to a department store (on the left).

紅芋 (Beni Imo - purple yam) Pretzels

Beni Imo Kit Kat. I didn't enjoy either.

ねぎ塩ラーメン (Negi Shio Ramen - Onion Soup Ramen). It has tons of onions and it was FANTASTIC.

And of course ice cream. 宇治抹茶 (Uji Matcha - certain kind of Green Tea) and Caramel Cookie.

You can't really see the faces but that doesn't matter. I went to the school's version of RENT. I didn't see the American/English version but this one was pretty awesome and I don't think I want to ruin it by seeing the original. Haha. This group of students are really talented.

kaimono itta!

Went shopping today, it was a blast! I got everything I needed and then some. I got to go to Uniqlo, my all time favorite store! Bought me some clothes. Also had a delicious lunch and ice cream then spent some money at a hyaku en shop. Then I watched Rent in Japanese by the college students. To be honest, I haven't seen the English version but I really enjoyed the Japanese version and it made me cry so I think I'm just going to leave it at that.

Came home, put away all my new toys, showered, made dinner while meeting a new floormate, tried to watch a drama but failed because apparently my ipad didn't download the whole thing properly from when I was trying to do it back home, and now I'm here.

Sorry, don't want to post pics today. I just posted it on facebook and it took forever so I'll wait till tomorrow when less people are on and the internet is faster.

I'm so excited to come home! Not because I miss home, because actually I'm really getting used to this life. I don't think I will feel like that in two months cause this is still the tourist phase (cause I'm spending money like crazy) but when it kicks me in the ass then I'll settle down. I'm excited because I want to play with my car. I bought a bunch of stuff for my car and I have plans to change some things when I get back. I hope it's ok.

Glassy

Went to this bar called "Glassy" last night. The only reason why I went because I thought I needed some alcohol and because the Roctoberfest failed. Anyway, it was one hell of a trip.

First of all, you can smoke. Now, it wouldn't be too bad if the place was huge but it's basically a bar, a pool table, and a small sitting area. That's it. Plus the doors are closed so it was a good thing that people didn't start smoking until later into the night.

Second, we prepaid for this ticket that would let us drink as much as we wanted. No one told us that it was from a set list of drinks (which was basically five things). Along with that, the drinks didn't even contain that much alcohol. All I had were "margaritas" and all it was was Sprite/7Up. That's not cool.

So after arriving way later than planned, we stuffed our faces with pupus and then talked for a little while. Then one of the girls that I was hanging out with wanted to smoke outside (thank you for those kinds of people) so we went outside with her. It was a lot better. The music wasn't blaring so that you had to yell just to talk to the person standing right next to you, it was fresh air (so not too cold and not too hot) and there was no smoke. That's pretty much what we did for most of the night. And I actually thank god that she wanted to smoke outside.

Then this one American dude (cause the bar was near the military base) was wasted and apparently he started puking in the toilet. So they brought him outside and then he started puking in the plants. While he was doing that, his buddy was trying to hit up on me and my two other friends outside. Asking us where we were from, what our names were, why we were here all while he was drunk as well. We, of course lied and told him that we were all from France (I was actually the only one not from France) and that my name was Jasmine. Hahah Then he started wondering why I didn't have a French accent, which is pretty good for a drunk guy, and so he started questioning me more. Don't worry, I'm not stupid. So I told him some other things that I knew and where I "studied" and then thankfully one of the bartenders, who was tending to the puking dude, saved me. So it was ok. Nothing bad happened.

That just makes me realize that I'm not at all attracted to drunk people. People who know that they can't hold their alcohol and yet still drink ridiculous amounts. There was even this one guy inside who was playing pool and really could not even hold the stick, couldn't even stand up straight and almost stabbed one girl in the eye with the end of the stick.

The best part is drunk girls. I think it's fucking hilarious that girls decide to go to bars with high heels. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing cause I know that girls like to look nice, but if you know that you can't fucking handle your damn alcohol then what makes you think that you can walk around drunk in heels. But that's not the best part. The best part, last night, was that this Glassy place has rocks and then giant stepping stones to go in and out of the bar. Hahaha. That is so damn hilarious. So they go in fine, and then when they come out they're all drunk and their heels get stuck in the rocks or because it's not level they trip or almost fall. It's so funny. Hahaha.

Ok that is all. haha

THE WEEKEND!

Today is Saturday and it's the beginning (well last night was the beginning) of a long weekend. Last night I went out with my tutor's boyfriend to go and grab some stuff from the Navy Exchange (because he's in the military) for my dorm. We bought a lot of stuff so I'm totally grateful that the trip wasn't a waste. We had a lot of fun and I can tell that this, along with my tutor, will be a great friendship.

The bad news about this weekend was that I was given a lot of homework. The good news is that when it comes to Japanese, I don't like to procrastinate so I just finished it, which is good because tonight my tutor and her boyfriend are taking me to Rocktoberfest! I'm actually kind of excited, even though I'm not a party-er, because it's something that I haven't been to before and it's in a different country and I need to be more outgoing. The other sad thing though is that my dorm floor is having a little get-together for someone's birthday as well as to meet everyone, so I feel kind of bad and I'll probably end up bringing them all back souvenirs from Rocktoberfest.

I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow though. Since I'll probably be coming home late tonight, I'll probably sleep in like I did this morning. Oh and then maybe I'll clean up around my room and around the floor. Our floor is filthy.  Oh and then if I have my laundry bag by then, then I can do laundry. Hmm... Maybe I can just do it without a laundry bag. Hopefully the weather is nicer tomorrow. Today it's a little overcast but nice and cool and not raining.

Also, I said that I'd post pictures here because that's basically what this blog is for, even though I posted them on facebook already. But since there are some creepers who will probably just happen upon this site, I will not give out my facebook. I will just post the pictures that I think are appropriate here.

On a bridge on highway 330.

The other side of the bridge.

I had the "Filet-o-Ebi(shrimp)"

It was DELICIOUS!

Shrimp & Mayo roll and King Salmon & Mayo onigiri

This was terrible. I like sugar in my coffee.

For the Pandas!

In Mihama ("American Village"). They were selling huli huli chicken with no rotisserie in sight.

Sour Cream and Onion! Best I've ever had.

Package Oyako-don with microwaveable rice.

Bell-shaped-sugar-covered castella, chocolate chip cookies, wafers with chocolate inside, crackers with cheese inside, green tea and white chocolate bagel (gross), and chicken & mayo onigiri.

another breakfast (banana, banana castella, and apple juice)

the banana castella had "BANANA" written on it and thick jelly-like banana flavored stuff inside.
